THE HISTORY

​

Dancing, singing, listening, and playing music together are perhaps the oldest forms of prolonged expressions of happiness, connectedness as a community, and oneness with the greater whole we recognise as life itself.

​

Even as far back as our cave-dwelling ancestors, before the advent of complex communication and before our mastery of tools, we understood something profound: the more noise we made together in the night (opposite to the silence of the day), the safer we would be.

​

To survive, we discovered that we had to establish our home. We had to live in harmony. And so we danced, picked up logs, banged them on the ground and against the walls, and with all the breath in our lungs, we sang and harmonised as one.

​

In doing so, the other animals recognised our place and our right to it. As we harmonised with one another, we, in turn, harmonised with nature itself.

​

Out of necessity, out of the primal instinct to survive and thrive, we came to
